Made in WN8 is a community organisation to help people seek out and buy locally made items. It also offers a helping hand to turn fledgling crafters into thriving businesses.
Are you are a ‘maker’ looking for somewhere to sell your products?
Made in WN8 For Makers
Turning a craft-making hobby into a business isn’t easy. You need the odds on your side. It’s hard work, and it’s easy to make mistakes along the way.
Made in WN8 is here to support you on your journey by organising makers markets, setting up an online virtual marketplace, and with help and advice for your craft making business.
As a Made in WN8 Maker, you’ll be able to advertise and sell your products through our website.
A not for profit enterprise
You can benefit from a selling platform with a difference. We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, and we want to support you to develop your hobby/makers enterprise.
Not just in WN8
Initially, Made in WN8 was started to support Makers in the WN8 postcode area around Skelmersdale. Now we want to expand our reach right out across the North West of England. So, if you’re a maker in the North West please feel free to get in touch [link to enquiry form] to see how we can help you.
Workshops and advice
We know it’s challenging to build a successful and sustainable business, so we’ll be staging workshops advising on:
- How to price your products.
- How to take compelling product photographs.
- How to develop an excellent customer network.
- How to maintain resilience when things get tough.
- And much more.
You will feature in our online shop, and you’ll be invited to our maker’s community events and kept up to date with our monthly newsletter.
Made in WN8 for Buyers
If you like the idea of buying unique, handcrafted items made locally, you’ve come to the right place.
We want to develop our local economy and reduce the carbon footprint of our small area.
You can see what’s on offer in our events and shop pages.
Made in WN8 for the Planet
Our customers want to shop responsibly and want to know that they are not contributing to the unnecessary exploitation of the planet or people. They are also a discerning bunch. They want to be able to buy or commission an item that is unique and made with love.
We will be curating all the items featured on the site to give you the confidence you’ll feature alongside other skilled makers.
